Artist statement

A wonderful and varied collection of work by four established artists and makers from Witheridge. We are based in a rural spot beside the Little Dart River and just 20 mins from Tiverton. Laura of Mud & Moor, Woody Fox, Jenny Nash, Maria Rose ROI Refreshments are available with seating and a riverside view Directions 2 miles from Rackenford and Witheridge.

Extended Bio

We create paintings, willow sculptures and ceramics inspired by the land, sea, wildlife, flora and fauna of Devon and the South West. Maria’s oil paintings are evocative landscapes that capture mood, atmosphere and light. Maria was a contestant on Landscape Artist of the Year and a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI). Woody’s life-size willow sculptures have been commissioned by venues such as Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace; from hens to horses his works create a striking presence in gardens and homes. Jenny’s paintings capture the movement, energy and power of the sea. Inspired by the Devon’s coastline her seascapes bring a sense of vitality and space to both viewer and setting. Laura’s functional ceramics inspired by botanical forms and the sea bring nature into everyday pieces that feature unique hand-painted details and impressions from the natural world.
