Artist statement
Working with vintage fabrics and re-using my own archive textile samples, I create textile artworks which reflect my surroundings where I live in Devon. I love to paint with pattern and thread, layering textures to convey the landscape and subjects which hold memories and meaning to me. I have a particular love of pattern and re-using found materials.
Extended Bio
Previously I trained as a textile designer, working in a very creative design studio in London for 15 years designing and selling one-off samples for fashion and interiors. This enabled me to experiment with different mediums and where I gained my love of freehand embroidery. I have always loved collecting vintage textiles and my love of fabrics and collage can be seen in my work. Recently I have started making art dolls which are animals I know and love. Commissions welcome. Artwork will be available to buy from my studio.
